Overview
The scrubbing file generated from Crystal PM is the same file type that is either uploaded or submitted to your clearinghouse. This file will be used to process your claims using the OneSpot Claim Scrubber. The instructions below explain how to export a claim scrubbing file from your practice management system.
Exporting an 837-File from Crystal PM
1. Login to Crystal PM, then select 'Admin.'
2. Select 'E Claims.'
3. Underneath 'Pending Claims To Be Batched', review the claims that are green as these are 'Ready.'
It is recommended that 'Ready' claims are first previewed in Crystal PM for needed edits, such as modifiers, referring providers, etc. before they are added to the 'Claims To Be Saved To Batch' queue.
4. Move the claims that are ready to be scrubbed from 'Pending Claims To Be Batched' to 'Claims To Be Saved To Batch.'
5. Select 'Save Batch to File.' Do not edit the file name.
6. Locate the saved batch file, which should be a .txt document. Then, proceed with uploading the file into the Claim Scrubber.
7. Once your claim file has been processed by the scrubber, you may or may not need to make corrections to the claims in your practice management system.
If you need to correct your claims after running them through the Claim Scrubber, you will need to regenerate your batch of claims in Crystal PM. Then, you will make the claim corrections and either save the new claim batch for manual upload to the clearinghouse or select 'Upload' to a clearinghouse for direct integrations. View the Regenerating Claim Files in Crystal PM for more information.
Tip: Be sure to delete old batch files from your 'Batch To File' folder before generating a corrected batch of claims.
Uploading an 837 Claim File to OneSpot Claim Scrubber
For Accounts in the Onboarding Process Only: Please do not proceed with the step listed below. Your onboarding specialist will complete this with you during your Scrubbing Kick-Off call.
To initiate the scrubbing process, claims downloaded from your practice management system must be uploaded to OneSpot. To learn more about this process, view the Upload a Claim Scrubbing File documentation.
