OfficeMate - Exporting a Claim Scrubbing File

Overview

The scrubbing file generated from OfficeMate is the same file type that is uploaded to your clearinghouse once claims are ready to submit. This file will be used to process your claims using the OneSpot Claim Scrubber. The instructions below explain how to export a claim scrubbing file from your practice management system.

Exporting an 837-File from OfficeMate

1. Log in to OfficeMate, then select the ‘3rd Party’ tab. From this tab, select 'CMS Third Party.'

2. In the 'Third Party Processing' screen, from the 'Receivers' drop-down menu, select the receiver accordingly.

Tip: If you are integrated with TriZetto as your clearinghouse, select 'GatewayEDI - ANSI837.' For all others, select 'ANSI 837 Format.'

3. From the 'Location' drop-down, complete the following:

  • Single location accounts: The location will be greyed out and automatically selected for you.

  • Multi-location accounts: Login to the 'Administration' profile and select 'All.'

4. In the 'Status' box, select 'Open' and place a checkmark next to 'Ready.'

Tip: Claims with a status of 'Errors' must be worked on from OfficeMate and should not be included in the file. Claims must have a status of 'Ready' to be included in the file.

5. Select 'Search.'

Tip: It is recommended that the 'Ready' claims be previewed in OfficeMate for necessary edits, such as modifiers, referring providers, etc. before the report is exported.

6. Select 'Create Claim Files.'

7. Locate the exported ANSI 837 claim file (CNX file type). To learn more about locating this file, view the Locating ANSI 837 Claim Files Exported from OfficeMate documentation.
